An event for Alexander Technique teachers, 'Variations on the Lunge….what do we use this for, and why?', with Anne Battye on Saturday afternoon of 14th March 2020 from 1:30-4:30pm at 10 Harley Street, London W1G 9PF.

For years during and after I had trained as an Alexander teacher I concentrated on what the Barlows' called “pure applied Alexander”. This was serious work on myself, in front of a mirror, lying down, getting in and out of a chair, using all the activities I had learned in class so that I could apply the practice to my life.

In time, I realised that this particular, detailed work on myself was even more useful when I applied it to my teaching practice. Even better was the effect it had on my pupils, for they could see that I was not showing them just what I had learned, but what I had experienced in practising this in-depth work.

How to apply Alexander's principles and his methods to our lives and our work is our “end” and each of us has to work out the “means whereby” we can do this, benefitting both us and our pupils. It's a win-win.

Anne Battye trained with Marjory Barlow and was her assistant on her training courses 1969-76. Anne teaches privately and is also a STAT moderator.

All participants will receive a record of attendance after the event.

Please book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited and note that no refunds will be possible after 29th Feb 2020.
