An event for Alexander Technique teachers 'Detailed exploration of hands-on procedures’ with Brita Forsstrom on Saturday afternoon of 25th April 2020 from 1:30-4:30pm at 10 Harley Street, London W1G 9PF.
In
this CPD workshop for AT teachers we will look at different approaches to some of our common hands-on procedures such as taking shoulders/arms or legs on both the table and in the chair.
We will do this as a detailed exploration in a ‘masterclass’ format where I will talk about what I see, how I think, how I direct and indeed the changes I hope to enable in the student.
Brita Forsstrom
has been running a private practice since qualifying in 1984 at ATA with Don Burton and Lizzie Atkinson, in London, where she also taught for two years. She has extensive experience of group introductory teaching including at The City Lit (Drama and Music Dept), gives workshops and consultations in the work place and has worked with choirs in Sweden and Singapore. Brita has been a Council member and Chair of STAT and served on STAT committees. She taught at AT Studio, a teacher training school, for 12 years and since 2014 has been training AT teachers at the City Alexander Technique School, together with Kamal Thapen. She presented a Continuous Learning session at the 10th International AT Congress in Limerick. She is co-author of The Alexander Technique for Pregnancy and Childbirth (1995), contributed an article in Connected Perspectives (2015) and has written articles and features in magazines and newspapers.
All participants will receive a record of attendance after the event.
Please book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited and note that no refunds will be possible after 11th April 2020.
